  • Pray for your local leaders and on the state and national level, that they will have wisdom, integrity, and fear of God so that their rulings will be honoring to God, that it may be well with us so the gospel can go out unhindered. (I Samuel 12: 14-15; I Timothy 2: 1-3)
  • Pray that all decisions our government makes will be guided by scriptural principles. (Proverbs 21:30-31)
  • Pray for President Obama. Pray that God will give him wisdom. Pray for our members of Congress, Supreme Court justices, and state and local officials. • Begin praying for local, state and national elections asking God to bring His people to exercise their privilege to vote and show their support of candidates that reflect His values. Pray that our leaders will have wisdom and integrity, and that they will seek God with all their heart. (I Samuel 12:14-15)
  • Ask God to give you wisdom as you consider which candidates to support. (James 1:5-6) Make all effort to discover what the election issues are, especially the moral issues on marriage and abortion. Pray for the candidates to find favor with God and man and for open doors that promote righteousness in our nation.
  • Pray that God will appoint members of congress in office from every state that will work together to promote righteousness and make decrees that demonstrate they fear God. Pray that they will represent us in knowledge and understanding. (Daniel 2:21)

Pray that they will fear God and rule morally. Ask God to place men and women of righteousness to uphold the laws of our land. (Isaiah 1:26) Pray for President Obama to choose judges wisely as seats become vacant.
  • Pray for more and more leaders to hate the things God hates: a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil, a false witness who lies and one who spreads strife among brothers. (Proverbs 6:16-19)
  • Pray for our nation to remember from where they have fallen, repenting and returning to doing their first works, being thankful and honoring God as God. (Revelation 2:5)
  • Ask God to raise up intercessors for this nation who are intent on pulling down strongholds over this land, making a way for the glory of the Lord to be revealed. (Isaiah 59:16; 2 Corinthians 10:4; Isaiah 40:5)
  • Pray for the leaders of this country that wisdom will enter their hearts, and that God will let knowledge be pleasant to them. Pray that discretion will preserve them and understanding will keep them. Pray that God will deliver them from the way of evil and from evil men. Pray that the upright will dwell in our government and those that are complete and blameless stay in our government, cutting off the unfaithful and letting the wicked be rooted out. (Proverbs 2:10-12; 21-22)
  • Pray for the salvation of those leaders in office that don’t know God, that they will discover how longsuffering God is toward them, and that He doesn’t want any to perish, but all to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
  • Pray for our nation to humble themselves before God, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
